Ideas a Bottomless Pit
Is it just me or has the much beloved Ideas of Civilisation's skin update resulted in a horrible loss of body?

And here was me up all night paiting too... Well ok not really.
ReplyDeleteConstructive criticism greatly received so what exactly do you mean about 'loss of body'?
Is that about the space for the actual text itself? If so I'll see what I can do.
Cheers.
It's not just you.
ReplyDeleteIn Firefox 3 his right column starts below the body text.
In Internet Explorer 6 there is no body, as you indicated.
Ah seeing Scottish Unionist's comments I'm wondering if it loos fine on my computer monitor (which it does) but isn't really working elsewhere?
ReplyDeleteIf so back to the drawing board I fear.
On Internet Explorer 6 (a horrible non-standards compliant browser) I can see the heading "About Me", the date "Wednesday, 30 July 2008" and the heading "Latest Updates".
ReplyDeleteBut below that no text is showing. It's just solid pale blue.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Good luck...
Stephen-SU,
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comments so far. I was so pleased with myself as well!
Ah well you know what they say about pride coming before a fall.
I've made some changes which may or may not have helped. If you get a chance to comment that'd be great. I'm going to check on another computer too.
Otherwise it's back to the drawing board and original skin.
IoC
Stop! Whatever you just did, it's perfect now in both browsers.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant - thanks for everyone's help.
ReplyDeleteI've just changed the margins of the new columns and hopefully that'll be it.
I'll still check myself on another screen. And then resist the temptation to play around with the HTML!
Erm All I'm getting in Explorer is the top part of whatever the lastest article is only the top half of the date. I've even cleared out history and cookies to take a new look and nada.
ReplyDeleteOh dear back to classic but at least I can read it.
ReplyDeleteStephen,
ReplyDeleteThanks again - if you're having problems other people surely will too.
I've gone back to my original look. Think I'll set up a new test blog and see if I can get it right.
If you don't mind I might send you the address once it's done to see if you can access this.
Oh well - so close!
That's peculiar. Stephen - which version of Internet Explorer? Earlier than 6?
ReplyDeleteThanks again for all your comments today. I thought it safer to revert to my original site until I can resolve problems.
ReplyDeleteIf you hap[pen to have the time I've set up a test page to try out iron out the problems, the link to which is below:
http://ioctestpage.blogspot.com/
If you could take even 30 seconds to check if you can read it that'd be great and much appreciated.
Cheers.
