Lord McNally argues that having a leadership election before the council elections in May would destabalish the party. But what is he doing by saying there is a question to be answered within the party is not also possibly scuppering election hopes?
He is also the most senior party member to mention a potential leadership election as a foregone conclusion. Therefore it makes me ask "Who is Lord McNally the sabre wielding aide for?".
